Post Match Analysis
I spent around 900+ DECs in rentals just to rent max level monsters allowed in Silver league and also because it was End of Season as well so cards were price at a higher rate. I was not able to break even with my rent but still I will consider it as well spent.
Alright let's proceed with the post-match analysis for each battle so we can criticized my strategy and hopefully we learn something out of it.
Match1: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_pCa5hhoZ5l1LT5ngJ8om&ref=jpleron
In this match, Close Range and Noxious Fumes is in effect. With Close Range rule, there's a higher chance of ranged monsters being used since they gained ability to attack even when they are at the front. And with Noxious Fumes, Cleanse and Immunity are the top priority while it is also advisable to use monsters with Healing abilities to survive from the damage the poison dealt per round.
| Lir Deepswimmer provides a plus 2 armor, a Return Fire ability and Blind debuffs to enemy monsters. With the Close Ranged ruleset, there is a higher chance of facing Ranged monster. Having a Return Fire will deal extra damage to enemy in case they are using ranged monsters. | |
|---|---|
| Sea Monster has a high damage and high HP as well. But the most important thing is it has Healing ability. It can regen 3 HP per round. | |
| Djinn Oshannis is one of the greatest monsters to match up with magic monsters as well. The Void ability reduces the magic damage it receives, while the Phase ability allows to evade magic attacks with the same calculation use in physical attacks. With the Blind debuff from Lir Deepswimmer, an additional of 15% chance for opponent to missed their attack plus the speed difference really help Djinn Osshanus to survive longer from barage of magic attacks (10% chance to miss for each speed difference). | |
| River Nymph has the Cleanse ability which will remove the Poison effect to monster on the front line. | |
| Its Protect ability provides additional armor to all friendly monsters | |
| Cornealus has a high max HP and a self Heal ability. Its regen can outheal the damage provided by poison. With the Close Range, it can attack from the frontline as well. |
At round 7, it came down to a match between Cornealus vs Cornealus. With both healing ability, they can regen the damage from Poison (2 HP) and the damage from each other (2 HP). But since we have Return Fire, we were able to deal a total of 5 damage per round while it can only regen 4 HP from its healing ability.
Match2: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_LDGPLaSUJFg6najuFWsC&ref=jpleron
With the Holy Protection and Odd Ones Out ruleset, I opted to use Fire Splinter with Tarsa as my Summoner to go for an all out melee attack with Sneak and Opportunity abilities.
| Tarsa provides additional melee damage and HP to all friendly monsters. With an all melee line-up, the buff provided by Tarsa benefits all monsters. | |
|---|---|
| Disintegrator have the Demoralize ability to reduce melee damage of opponent's monster. | |
| Radiated Brute with Reach ability allows him to attack at the 2nd position | |
| Fina Voxom was the MVP of the match. Our Gladiator was able to kill 4 monsters and stacked up 8 melee damage at the end of the match. With Opportunity ability, Fina Voxom can easily find and eliminate low HP monsters which works well with her Bloodlust ability | |
| Uraeus has a mediocre melee damage with Sneak ability | |
| Tenyii Striker is also a melee damager with Sneak ability. Partnered with Uraeus, they can easily assassinate backline monsters while Fina Voxom does the clearing operations. |
Match3: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_QbLyQ4p7O0dDoJPvEdJr&ref=jpleron
With Earthquake ruleset, both of us used Brighton Bloom as the Summoner to provide Flying ability to all monster to counter the effect of earthquake. I also chose to go all melee to utilized the Enrage ability provided by Spreading Fury ruleset. With Enrage ability, all monsters gained additional melee and speed buff when they take damage from enemy.
| I used Brighton Bloom to provide flying ability to my monsters. With Flying ability, we will not receive damage from earthquake ruleset | |
|---|---|
| Grum Flamebalde has the Void and Void Armor which is good for receiving magic damage from Gold Dragon. It also has the Bloodlust ability which can help stack stats when killing enemy monsters. | |
| Radiated Brute with Reach ability allows him to attack at the 2nd position | |
| Fina Voxom was again the MVP for this match. Our Gladiator was able to kill 5 out of 6 monsters and stacks up enough speed to have almost 90% chance to evade attacks just from speed difference alone. | |
| Tenyii Striker is also a melee damager with Sneak ability. Partnered with Uraeus, they can easily assassinate backline monsters while Fina Voxom does the clearing operations. | |
| Scorch Fiend acts as decoy for Sneak or Opportunity attacks | |
| Furious Chicken acts as decoy as well for Sneak and Opportunity attacks |
Match4: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_6QAttwxcaQXMgTBpJbZF&ref=jpleron
With Reverse Speed and Holy Protection ruleset, I opted to go with Earth Splinter with Magic damage aside from our Gladius Katrelba Gobson. I opted to use my favorite line-up, the Taunt + Triple Heal combo.
| Mylor Crowling provides the Thorns ability to all friendly monsters. I opted to use this incase my opponent goes with melee line-up. | |
|---|---|
| Mycelic Slipspawn have the Taunt ability with magic damage. It also has the Forcefield ability that can reduce 5 or more damage to just 1. | |
| Queen Mycelia provides additional armor with its Protect ability and additional damage from Thorns with its Amplify ability. | |
| Goblin Psychic is one of the 3 healers in our line-up. It also has the Affliction ability which can counter healing abilities | |
| Wood Nymph is another Tank healer in our line-up | |
| Khmer Princess completes our Triple Healer combo | |
| Katrelba Gobson, our Gladius for this match, handles the enemy backline with its Sneak and Double Strike ability. |
Match5: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_L475sxhYBcLCwXCsrsPw&ref=jpleron
With low mana cap battle and Equalizer ruleset, I opted to use monsters with low mana requirement. Lost Legendaries is in effect so we cannot used our Fiends here as well.
| I used Brighton Bloom to provide flying ability to my monsters. Flying ability provides 25% chance to evade attacks from non-flying monsters. And with high Speed monsters, I can increase my evasion more. | |
|---|---|
| Xenith Monk with 4 mana requirement has mediocre HP and self Heal. It also has decent speed stat. | |
| Furious Chicken is for decoy only. With low mana cap, it can be use as fillers. Although it is a double edge as well when deploying low hp monsters against Bloodlust monsters. | |
| Orella Abadon was oor Gladiator for this match. It has Sneak abilities good for attacking enemy backline. I was able to turn the match with the help of Bloodlust and Flying abilities. Enemy missed a lot of attacks in the critical moments of the match | |
| Lava Spider with 3 mana cap has the Snipe ability. | |
| Naga Assassin with 2 mana cap has high HP and Backfire ability. Although it didn't even managed to evade a single attack from opponent, we still manage to absorb some attacks |
Match6: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_kp94IJyg1YKNLPwWTNs2&ref=jpleron
With Equal Opportunity ruleset, I opted to use Mylow Crowling in case my enemy uses heavy melee line-up. I also use a tank with Taunt ability with 2 Tank healing abilities to support it.
We were able to defeat a Llama+Kron combo. Krons' 5 magic damage was reduced to 1 due to Forcefield ability.
| Fungus Fiend acts as decoy to absorb some damage in case our tank was taken down. | |
| Furious Chicken acts as decoy to absorb some damage in case our tank was taken down. | |
| Wood Nymph is a good support for our Tank with magic damage | |
| Khmer Princess completes our Double Healer combo. It also has a low mana cap requirement | |
| Bertrol Gobson, our Gladius for this match, has a low mana cap to complete our line-up. |
Match7: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_n1ePa7XqxR5cPYwPzwNs&ref=jpleron
With the Noxious Fumes ruleset, I opted for monsters with Healing abilities and Cleanse ability. Unfortunately, My Xenith Monk was easily been taken down and Cornealus cannot attack from the first position since it didn't have the Close Range ability.
My opponent went with Forgotten One with Immunity ability to counter the effect of Poison, which helps him with this match.
Match8: https://splinterlands.com?p=battle&id=sm_I1dVgZU37RUFonnh290D&ref=jpleron
With Earthquake and Up Close & Personal ruleset, I was forced to used Mylor Crowling since Thorns will definitely work against all enemy monster. But since Earthquake rule is in effect, I opted to used monsters with Flying abilities as well. Unfortunately, it didn't work since my opponent was able to setup a Scarred Llama Mage and Quora Towershed combo. Quora Towershed has both melee and magic attacks plus the self Heal ability which help her survived the matched. And with the Last Stand in effect, it greatly boost her stats more.
If only I knew my opponent will use this one, I may have chosen a Life Splinter with level 2 Uriel the Purifier as my main damager. It might increase my chances since Uriel also has the healing and Recharge ability.
This is the end of my post analyis. Hopefully, you got something reading this post.
Till next time!!!

Splinterlands is a digital, collectible card game built on blockchain technology. It is similar in concept to games like Magic the Gathering and Hearthstone where you build up a collection of cards, which all have various different stats and abilities, and use them to battle other players in skill-based matches. By using blockchain technology, players can buy, sell, and trade their digital assets freely just as if they were physical cards, and all transactions are recorded publicly and immutably.
