Hello fellow gamers and investors. Today I want to write about one of the first challenges I was confronted with in Splinterlands:
How to get my EUR into the system on the most efficient = cheap way?
I found many good videos and posts on the matter, but none of them was really end to end. From Sending the FIAT money, in my case EUR, efficiently to an exchange and then transfer it further to e.g. Hive-Engine, or into Splinterlands directly. Therefore I decided to create this step by step guide how to get the EUR you would like to invest into your Hive-Wallet in form of Swap.Hive. It is really detailed, so everyone can follow. If you do not need all this details just skip some steps.
Preparation: Create your accounts
The way I will show you includes 4 tools / platforms, which we will use. For three of them you need an account and identify yourself with an ID Card Drivers License etc. In order to move through this step by step guide smoothly you should do all of this upfront. If you already have accounts with this site, please move forward to Part 1.
If not, you can follow the links below to sing up at these sites. The links I provide here for Advcash.com and Binance.com are referral links. Part 1: Depositing money at Binance.com
Binance.com is my favorite crypto exchange. It is easy to use and has a lot of Coins to be traded. But you cannot buy hive there directly. But this is not a big problem, since there is a good way, to obtain later.
You can deposit EUR on binance in several ways. The fastest (instant) way is buying crypto with a credit card but it costs 2% fee, which is really costly when transfering bigger amounts.
The cheaper way is using Advcash. Transferring money from Advcash to Binance does not cost any fees at all. Advcash is a platform where you can send and transfer money as well as trade cryptos or even stake your money. For us only the SEPA deposit and transfer to Binance is of interest.
Transferring EUR to Advcash will take 1-3 days and cost 1 € fee. The minimum payment is 101 € - so at least 100 € will be booked to your account. But even if you deposit 1.000 € or even more the fee will be only 1 €. This is incredibly cheap. My last transfer took less than one day from my german bank account to Advcash. From Advcash to Binance it is an instant transfer.
Step 1: Login to Advcash and click on Deposit Funds
Step 2: Look for the SEPA Option and click on Deposit
Step 3: Enter the necessary information
Enter the amount you would like to deposit.
The IBAN you plan to transfer your funds from.
Choose Transfer to crypto exchange
Check the two checkboxes and state that you are making the payment by yourself.
Then click on Get Bank Details
Make sure your IBAN is correct, or the bank transfer will not work and Advcash will charge you 30 € for that.
Step 4: Do your bank transfer from your bank by using the date from this site.
The Payment Details must be copied to the reference (German Verwendungszweck) field.
The beneficiary is not your name but Advcash itself. This is often that way when sending money to such platforms, because you do not have your own bank account there.
Up to now you have paid only 1 €.
It will take 1-3 days until your money arives at Advcash. As soon as its there you can continue with step 5.
Step 5: Go to binance.com and click on Buy Crypto EUR followed by Card Deposit
Step 6: Choose Advcash Account Balance and click Continue
Step 7: Enter the amount you would like to deposit and click on Continue
Step 8: Click on Continue
Step 9: It may be, that you need to approve this transaction by mail.
Go to your mail account and approve your deposit by clicking into your mail.
Afterwards go back to your Binance.com tab and click on Confirm
Your EUR should now be in you SPOT / FIAT Wallet on Binance.com
Part 2: Buying Litecoin with EUR
Why am I asking you to buy Litecoin, we wanted to Buy Hive, or not? Hive is not directly available on Binance.com. Therefore we need to apply a small trick. First we buy Litecoin, because it has cheap cost, when trading or transferring it to other wallets. Later on we will use a platform called Blocktrades.us to transfer them to hive and directly send them into our Hive Account.
Step 10: Click on Wallet followed by Fiat and Spot
Step 11: Search for your EUR and click on Buy
Step 12: Enter the amount of EUR you want to buy LTC for and choose LTC as receiving coin than click on Continue
Step 13: Check if everything is correct and click on Confirm
Part 3: Swap your LTC for HIVE and transfer it to your Hive account
Now that we have the LTC we can use blocktrades.us to swap them into hive and directly transfer them to our hive account.
Step 14: Go back to your Fiat & SPot Wallet, search for your LTC and click on Withdraw
Step 15: Leave the withdraw screen and open a new tab or window and enter blocktrades.us
Make sure LTC and Hive are the choosen coins.
Than enter your Hive Account Name. If you play Splinterlands the name of your Hive Wallet is the same, as your in game name. Do not use Kheldar1982, or you will send the Hive to me. This would be very nice, but is not needed
Afterwards click on Get Deposit Address.
Step 16: Copy the Link and paste it into your Binance.com Withdraw to Adress
Step 17: Enter the amount you want to exchange into Hive.
You can choose max, the fees are taken from this amount. Then click on Withdraw
The transfer will take around 30 minutes to complete. You can see when it is finished on the blocktrades.us site. When it is completed you can continue with the final step 18.
Part 4: Changing Hive into Swap.Hive
You cannot use native Hive in your Hive-Engine for trading other tokens, or buying e.g. Credits in Splinterlands. You need to convert it into Swap.Hive. Hive-Engine allows to deposit Hive by clicking the Deposit Button, but this cost 1% fee. The cheaper way is to use BeeSwap. They do the same, but take only 0,25 % fee.
Step18: Go to BeeSwap-Convert to change your Hive into Swap.Hive
Make sure, that Hive is on top and Swap.Hive in the lower row.
Then enter the amount of Hive you would like to Swap and click on Convert.
You now have your Swap.Hive and can start trading, buying DEC, SPS, Credits, Vouchers, Boosters...
I hope, this "little" step by step guide helps you to find your way into the world of Splinterlands and crypto investing more easily. It is not the only way to invest into Splinterlands or buy tokens. If for example you only wont to buy some DEC or SPS you can as well do this by buying BUSD at Binance transfer it to a Metamask Wallet (after making it ready for the Binance Smart Chain) exchange this BUSD via Pancake Swap into SPS or DEC and then transfer it in the Splinterlands client into your account.
