Concept:
šµ Community-Powered Splintervibes Program
GOOD MORNING SPLINTERLANDS!
I wanted to share a structured idea for evolving Splintervibes into a deeper, community-driven system that could meaningfully increase engagement, creator participation, and long-term value.
Concept Overview
Introduce a Community Submission Pathway where players can submit original Splinterlands themed music to become official Splintervibes tracks, pending team approval.
Submissions would include:
- Track Title
- Artist Name
- Cover Art
- MP3 file
- Optional MP4 music video (if the artist wishes to create something)
- Optional art images linked to the song or music video in some way
After internal review for quality, ownership verification, and TOS compliance, approved tracks would mint as official Community Splintervibes NFTs in the Store.
Why This Could Be Powerful
1ļøā£ Creator Economy Layer Inside Splinterlands
This would transform Splintervibes from collectible music into a Web3 music launchpad within the ecosystem.
- Encourages real creative output
- Attracts musicians and content creators
- Expands cultural identity of the game
- Generates organic external promotion from participating artists
- Artists would have incentive to market their own Splintervibes NFTs because some of their revenue is tied to them.
2ļøā£ Built-In Royalty Incentive
Approved creators could receive:
- 80 to 100% royalty on primary sales of their Splintervibes track in the Store (depending on whether the team earns on Splintervibes in store purchases or burns the DEC, instead of just burning the DEC, the artist could receive the full DEC commission)
- Ongoing 5% royalty on in-game market sales of their Splintervibes NFT, where trackable
This creates: - Long-term alignment
- Recurring income for creators
- Sustainable incentive to produce high-quality submissions that other players will want to get a hold of
All handled through smart contract royalty architecture.
3ļøā£ Competitive Reward Structure (Prestige Incentives)
To incentivize strong participation, accepted creators could receive:
- An ultra-limited Legendary card (Modern-legal forever, prestige tier, balanced but ultra desirable)
- Exclusive āSplintervibes Superstarā Title
- Splintervibes Superstar Avatar Badge
- Special cosmetic āGolden Setā (Frame, Background, Outfit, and Hat blinged out with gold)
- Glint reward (e.g. 500k)
- Featured Splintervibes Artist Spotlight via in-game rotating banner for a season
- Winnerās track auto-featured in:
Login screen music rotation
Brawl lobby
Market
This creates: Status + Utility + Cosmetics + Glint incentive + Promotion
An ultimate bundle that any player would love to get their hands on!
The Legendary card would need to be designed carefully:
- Strong and meaningful at EVERY level, even at 1 BCX
- Each level you're able to get your copy to offers an exceptional card to place in your lineups
- Powerful but balanced to preserve competitive integrity
- Ultra scarce and prestigious
- This card should be something amazing players strive to get by investing their time, energy and creativity to make something entertaining for the community
4ļøā£ Optional Community Voting Layer
The DAO community could participate in voting on whitelisted submissions, once the team has approved the submissions for voting.
This:
- Increases engagement
- Creates excitement around each release
- Gives players ownership in the curation process
Risk Mitigation Considerations
To protect the platform:
- Mandatory ownership verification of submitted content
- Explicit licensing confirmation from submitter
- TOS compliance screening
- Clear content guidelines
- Quality control standards
This ensures no copyright or brand risks while maintaining professional standards.
Long-Term Vision
If successful, Splintervibes could evolve into:
- A recurring incentive creator program
- A seasonal competition
- A cultural pillar of Splinterlands
- A marketing engine powered by artists
This would deepen emotional attachment to the brand and reinforce Web3 creator values.
I believe thereās significant untapped talent within our community, and with the right incentive structure, we could see genuinely high-quality music and video content emerge under the Splinterlands banner.
Would love to hear thoughts on whether something like this could fit into the long-term Splintervibes direction.
