Hello world and fellow Hivers
Today we have another episode of Highlights from the ladder and as we do every Sunday I am going to share with you one formation that I used in the ladder and I believe that is worth viewing. Before we even begin with the game-related stuff, I would like to announce that I've started playing a new crypto game that I believe is very promising, I will release more info in near future but if you want to know more details I would highly suggest joining at
Hive account@thgaming discord server. So let's get back to today's article and I would like to state that the initiative of this post is the Social Media challenge from
Hive account@splinterlands.
If you are familiar with the game please skip the next part, if you are new to Splinterlands, I will make a summary for you! I will try to explain what is this crypto game with a few words!
So if anyone is new here and doesn't know what the game is about let me explain it to you. Splinterlands is a play to earn a game in the NFT world. The game operates in the Hive blockchain and it is a trading game genre! To put it simply it's a card game that whenever you win you earn SPS and RP, the more you play and you are going up the ladder, the more rewards you get in quantity both for SPS & RP but you even get better rewards from the chests you are going to open. If you want to join and take a taste of the game, you can do that for free but if you want to start earning SPS and grind for NFT cards and earn more rewards you must buy the Summoner's Spellbook. I totally recommend starting your journey today and to help you with that we are going to review today one battle for my daily ranked games!

The Battle

Ruleset
- Thorns: All monsters have the Thorns ability.
- Stampede: The Trample ability can trigger multiple times per attack if the trampled monster is killed.
- Mana cap in this battle is 52 & We can only choose Fire, Death, and Earth class.

Summoner Selection
Well, the summoner that fits perfectly in this situation is the good old Thaddius Brood. When I viewed my opponent's battle history I saw that the majority of his past games used this annoying Magic Earth formation, therefore, I already knew that with the Thorns ruleset on the probability to play it again was very high. I don't know if I have told you before but one thing that gives me great joy when I play SL except for winning against Kron-Lama is winning this annoying Magic Earth formation. So an antimagic formation it is ladies and gentlemen!

Teams' Formation

Team presentation
The first card that entered the battlefield for my team was Bone Golem. This monster is going to tank on the frontline and I chose it because it has the ability "Void" and pretty good stats. In case my hidden tank was defeated, I wanted to tank as many hits as it could do and another reason was that it does a great combo with my summoner.

The second card that I used for this formation is one of the greatest cards I used in this battle because of the stats it has and of course the ability it has Close Range. So Queen of Crows is a perfect match for our team because except for the decent damage it deals with this high HP it could tank a lot of damage and stall our opponent's damage dealers enough in order we could achieve to destroy his frontline.

In the third place, I chose to place one of the most useful cards in my formation, Cabalist. The reason that this card played a huge role in the battle was the ability it has Amplify, you can easily understand that this ability makes a great combo with the current ruleset and especially with the Thorns ruleset. Apart from that, it did really great job as a damage dealer and helped a lot during the whole battle.

In fourth place, I placed the card Vampire and the main reason that I chose it for my formation was because of the Speed and the attack damage it has, and of course, the ability Leech was a big plus. This card helped me a lot to penetrate my opponent's frontline even faster and help me achieve the win. I highly recommend using this class in a similar situation or when you face the rule Equaliser.

The monster that I chose to place in the fifth place was Dhampir Stalker and this is going to be one of my main damage dealers. The ability it has True Strike makes it a perfect candidate for taking this position and of course all of that in combination with his high attack range damage and his Speed. A very great card that can be played easily at level 1 as I do in this situation.

The last card that I placed was my hidden tank Night Ghould and the main reason that I chose this card was the Taunt ability. Obviously, I really liked the stats of this card especially the HP and Armor and I believed that it could hold enemy attacks enough turns. So the idea was to divide the incoming attacks into two monsters one of them was Bone Golem and the other this one.
