Hi all,
Another post in this series. Thank you for your support in the previous post π
This series intends to determine if there are other aspects of cards that may contribute to increasing its value. Based on your feedback I can focus on more/other things β so feel free to tell me where you want me to go into further detail.
I include some analysis on where the cards fit in terms of strategy and a market analysis of the price of the card in previous months. Feel free to suggest what more do you want me to look into.
In this edition I will be looking at the Phantasm.
Card ID, Editions, and number of cards
This cardβs ID number is 246, and it is a card from the Reward set.
Rarity type: Common

Strategy
I will be focusing my analysis on the usefulness of this card in lower leagues (i.e. bronze to gold).
This cardβs main attributes are its speed and flying ability. The main drawback is its high mana cost. Therefore, this card can be easily replaced by Pelacor Deceiver or even a combination of Riftwing with one or two more cards. This reduced usefulness makes it a card that players can easily skip. In my opinion this is reflected in the cost trajectory that will be analyzed as follows.
Market analysis
A cheap card to get at lvl 1, but easily skippable.
Letβs look at the last 6 months.
Looking at the graph, the following can be concluded:
- in regular foil, there was a downward trend until stabilizing at about the 0.05$ price range. There seems to be a resistance currently at this price range.
- in gold foil, the price has consistently been dropping (although less sharply than in regular foil) and it may very well be the case that it can still drop further, as no resistance can yet be identified.
From my point of view, only a bear market may prevent the price decline and likely stagnation.
Please let me know in the comments if there is any further information you would like me to include in future analysis.
Stay safe!
