Assuming you have not just come out of a coma you have definitely been privy to the most recent kerfuffle in Splinterlands, namely the highly controversial card Gremlin Blaster. A quick primer for those who may still be unfamiliar:
A recently introduced Reward card to replace some of the reward cards coming to the end of their production. This is a Rare Neutral card with a playing cost of 3 mana.
At Level 1 (1 bcx) you get 1 melee, 2 speed, 1 Life and an ability. It doesn't matter what the card offers at higher levels, because this card has one purpose - and one purpose only. REDEMPTION.
Redemption - When this Monster dies, it does 2 damage to all enemy monsters.
Now while I was busy writing this post the development team has, in their esteemed and ineffable wisdom, nerfed the Gremlin into a complete and utter mediocrity. So...
The remainder of this space will be on the ability and highlighting the few cards from across the splinters that still have it.
Death Splinter - Cursed Slimeball: 1 mana, Common, Redemption at Level 6 (100 bcx)
Life Splinter - Thunderbird: 3 mana, Epic, Redemption at Level 6 (46 bcx)
Fire Splinter - Fire Elemental: 5 mana, Rare, Redemption at Level 8 (115 bcx)
Earth Splinter - Spirit Shaman: 4 mana, Epic, Redemption at Level 5 (23 bcx)
So there you have it. I think the Ability is really amazing and deserves to be in the higher leagues. In the meantime, RIP my Gremlin friend, RIP.
Feel free to way in on the debate despite it being over. Redemption: good, bad, or meh? Either way remember to have fun and Play On!!
Correction: Dragon Splinter - Fire Spitter: 4 mana, Epic, Redemption at Level 4 (11 bcx) Thank you Byzantinist
