Hi everyone! I hope you all are doing well! I'd like to welcome you all back to my weekly blog, I've been playing less Splinterlands this week because of real life issues which now is mostly taken care of so I can start resuming my normal daily life, which include Splinterlands grinding, blogging and other Web3 games too.
During my ranked play when I see nice battles that are worth talking about, I try to remember this and save the battle link so I can use them later for my blogs, thanks to this I can also post when I have less time to battle.
This weeks Battle Mage Secret Challenge requires us to make a post about the Super Sneak ruleset, in which every melee monster gets the Sneak ability.
Did you know?
*Super Sneak overrules the Reach and Opportunity abilities! *
To find out how you can participate in the challenge yourself, you can read the Splinterlands post here. I highly recommend doing this, because over time, it can fund your Splinterlands deck! By making the two posts we are allowed to every week, I'm making about $40-50 every month! 🤑
First look at the battlefield:
Hmmm, it could have been worse, a heavy melee Fire team, but with high card levels so they are pretty fast, nice Gold Foil Serpentine Spy! 😍 I'd like to have that one!
My Line-Up:
- Summoner: Obsidian - reason: Access to Earth, more magic damage!
- First position: Hill Giant - reason: Low mana meat shield with ok damage.
- Second position: Queen Mycelia - reason: Protect gives one extra blow for every card, good damage for only 4 mana.
- Third position: Fungus Flinger - reason: Martyr and Blind fits my strategy perfectly!
- Fourth position: Regal Peryton - reason: Very fast, flying, it's supposed to dodge a lot.
- Fifth position: Venari Marksrat - reason: Martyr to boost attacks and speed for mainly Regal Peryton
- Sixth position: Djinn Biljka - reason: Camouflage, good magic damage for only 3 mana.
I play this set-up often in different variations depending on the mana cap, on higher mana battles I like to bring Unicorn Mustang to protect myself again another magic team, but most players go for melee when they see Super Sneak. It's also nice to bring a Triage monster like Spirit Hoarder to heal Regal Peryton IF it gets hit, in most fights it gets hit every now and then but it dodges enough to get healed back to full health almost every time.
The Battle:
Round 1: As planned my martyr died, and because of the Born Again ruleset, it could die twice, bringing Regal Peryton to a whopping 8 speed, good luck in hitting that combined with the blind and flying! Both Regal Peryton and Djinn Biljka are now doing 5 magic damage and even if my whole front line dies, the other martyr card will speed up Regal Peryton even more!
Round 2: Miss, miss, miss, miss! LOL! not one attack landed!
Round 3: Again, all misses... must be very frustrating for my opponent 😄, speed is so important in this game... Two deaths on the other team, no changes on mine.
Round 4: This won't take long now, another miss...
Round 5: He's not even getting trough my tank... erm... meat shield 😋
0.8 SPS and some RP, Modern is very competitive now, so every win is welcome!
