~ 😘 Hello Splinterlands lovers around the world 😘 ~
Welcome back to my blog,
Hive account@queen-silvia. In today's post, I would like to share about my first experience of brawling at Tier 4 with one of the top 5 guild in terms of Brawling. Yes, As you can see at the top left of the picture, the guild's name is Shield of Glory. The other top 5 guilds are Summoner's tribe (led by
Hive account@jacekw), Immortal Gods (led by
Hive account@clove71), Legendary Dragon (I am not sure who is the leader, maybe
Hive account@taug or uwelang), and Guild of Neoxian (I am not sure also who leads the guild, maybe
Hive account@xawi, 😁). At the previous Brawl, the race for the first spot between Shield of Glory and Guild of Neoxian is very tight. at the end of the brawl, the winner is Guild of Neoxian with 336 points after 112 W, followed by Shield of Glory with 327 points after collecting 109 W and the third place is Peakmonsters Premiere with 264 points after 88 W. The point difference was so high between second and third so the race for the first spot is very thrilling until the end of brawl.

Alright, Here is all the points that I am going to discuss in this article :
- My 5 Brawls recap (Lesson learned)
- My preparation for super brawl match against Immortal Gods, Summoner's Tribe, Legendary Dragons and Guild of Neoxian
- 9 Gladius Pack opening
- Announcement of Giveaway #51 Winner
- Giveaway #53

- 5 BRAWLS RECAP (LESSON LEARNED) -
Actually I have 8 matches which ended up 5 W and 3 L as the result. Some loses are a bit difficult to believe ha ha, because the opponent was banning Yodin Zaku in Counterspell ruleset (giving all monsters ability to counter magic attack) where I do believe Yodin is the only way to win the battle (Life and Water splinters were not available to counter Yodin). Another lose was when I had 100% the same line up with my opponent (Kelya Frendul, Cruel Sethropod, Torrent Fiend, Isgald Vorst, and Igor Darkspear) and I ended up losing because my opponent has higher level Isgald. Okay, Let's jump into the first battle :
QUORA TOWERSHEAD IN THE SECOND POSITION
| Ruleset | Mana | Element |
| Heavy Hitters, Counterspell | 99 | Earth, Fire |

BATTLE LINK
I lost in this match. I think my biggest mistake was putting Quora Towershead in the first position and It makes her really fragile and die very fast. I like the opponent line up when he/she puts Mycelic Morphoid at the 6th position to attract all the attack to protect his/her tank monster. The best position for Quora is at the second position, as the second tank monster. This way, she has lots of strength to kill the opponent's second tank monster and it will make her way stronger due to bloodlust ability. Some of my other mistakes were the decision to chose Cornealus and Coeurl Lurker, The Lurker could not attack just pulling all the attack and Cornealus only has 2 ranged attack, in 99 mana, we need more than 2 damage I think.

TAUNT AND OPPORTUNITY ABILITIES
| Ruleset | Mana | Element |
| Up Close and Personal, Healed Out | 42 | Earth, Fire |

BATTLE LINK
Well, the battle was melee only and I am very lucky that he wasn't set the Taunt monster to protect the low HP monsters like Serpentine Spy. Since there is no monster who have taunt ability in my opponent side, all of my sneak and opportunity monster can attack from any position in the backline. The first victim is Serpentine Spy as his HP is only 2, The next victim is Grum as he received lots of damage from Magnor with his enrage ability. Fina Voxom has activated his bloodlust once but thanks to Chimney Wallstop with his 3 armour and 9 Health point, my melee team killed her first before she activated her bloodlust again. The key to win this match is Camila Sungazer as she reduced all of the melee damage by one.

THE IMPORTANCE OF REPAIR ABILITY
| Ruleset | Mana | Element |
| Fog of War, Earthquake | 12 | Fire, Water, Life, Death, Dragon |

BATTLE LINK
My opponent used lv.2 Marisol Contuma who has 5 melee attack and 5 speed, very dangerous with his reach and Bloodlust ability since he can easily kill the target and activate his bloodlust, but thanks to repair ability by Adelade Brightwing to restore 2 shield in every round. Another reason why I won the match is because the difference of summoners, The opponent used General Sloan who give additional ranged attack while I used the counter of ranged attack, Ilthain. Since the ruleset is earthquake, it's pretty common that both of use are using monster with flyting ability and sometimes snare if it's available.

ILTHAIN, THE YODIN COUNTER
| Ruleset | Mana | Element |
| Back to Basic, Equalizer | 58 | Fire, Water, Life, Death, Dragon, Earth |

BATTLE LINK
Once I saw the mana was very high, fire splinter is available and there's a chance for ranged attack coming up, I was thinking that the opponent might use Yodin and my prediction was right. So I set up lots of magic monsters to destroy their monsters. They have very high attack, 4 damage from 4 monsters and 3 damage from Tatiana. It was a big catastrophe to my team but thanks to return fire and additional 1 speed, The Ilthain could win the battle with 2 monsters left at the end of the match. It was very fun to see Yodin countered by Ilthain.

HIGHER LEVEL, HIGHER CHANCE TO WIN
| Ruleset | Mana | Element |
| Counterspell, Close Range | 12 | Fire, Water, Life, Dragon |

BATTLE LINK
I lost in this match. In my opinion, It's because of the lower level card I used than the opponent's card. I put lv.3 Isgald Vorst (3 melee damage) while my opponent used lv. 5 Isgald who have 5 melee damage. Based on the game rule, the higher level monster will attack first, so the higher level monster will have higher possibility to win the match since they can attack their opponent first. My gladius cards are pale in comparison to players in tier 4 brawl since I just started playing Splinterlands in May 2022 and I do believe most of Tier 4 players are the Old gamer who has been started the game way older than me but I won't ever give up to win as many brawls as I could with SoG to strengthen my gladius card.

- MY PREPARATION FOR SUPER BRAWL MATCH AGAINST IG, ST, LD and GoN -
Well, the current brawl will be the most challenging brawl I've ever had since the top 5 guilds (in terms of brawl) are at the same group and it makes me very excited to get the idea of new battle strategy from them. I do believe the brawl will be hard since their gladius cards are way stronger than mine but there's still hope to win as we can rent some good cards at market. So below are the things I did as the preparation for super brawl match :
1. Have some challenge with my friends
I think the best way to prepare our self for the big game is to have challenge with our friends as we can share our ideas in each battle. I had some challenge with
Hive account@lenonmc21 and the score was 3-0 for his win, ha ha. He is a very good player at gold and silver but looks like a bit unlucky in his previous brawl so we decided to have challenge together in gladiator mode when both of us are free. I would like to have some challenge with
Hive account@jayemm3 and maybe
Hive account@petroni as well since I will be at the same fray mode with petroni.
2. Re-watch the completed Modern Silver Tournament
Well, maybe it's just me who did that but I would say watching how the champion of tournament playing and arranged their deck is very exciting and really inspiring. so many great strategies to learn from them in some rulesets. Most of the time, the winner is ula.ocean from immortal gods guild. So yeah, I learned a lot from him. I only consider the SPS tournament with high SPS prize only since the top players are playing there.
3. Climbing for Silver Modern Leaderboard
Another way to get good battle strategies comes from Leaderboard as they are the top player in that league. Whenever I rented some cards for the tournaments, I always used it to climb for the leaderboard as well so that my rating could help the guild a bit. We need to be very carefully climbing for leaderboard because one lose against player who has way lower rating, it will reduce lots of our rating, like -35 and it will take some time to get our account back to where it was since we only get very small rating after winning (+3, +5, +7, etc).
4. Winning Silver Tournaments
The last thing I did to prepare myself for the brawl is winning or being at least at the top 4 at the tournaments. There are many skilled players at the tournament so playing against them will increase our skill as well. I was lucky to finished at the top 4 at Summun Infuria Modern Silver Tournament yesterday and I think it was a good booster for the brawl I think. Here is the final result of Summun Infuria Silver Modern tournament :

- 9 GLADIUS PACKS OPENING -
Okay, This is what I got opening 9 gladius packs with 45 Blood stone I bought from the shop. The price of the blood stone is 138 DEC so I spent 6210 DEC for it. Our guild has not upgraded to lv.8 so we can't buy power stone yet. There are 2 legendaries, and 3 epic cards which will be very precious for my gladius deck.
