FOMO or (fear of missing out) refers to the feeling or perception that others are having more fun or experiencing better things than you are. It involves a deep sense of envy and affects self-esteem.
Today, Chaos has arrived in Splinterlands and while everybody is busy opening their packs, have you ever thought of opening yours NOW? I've been watching my friends unfold their packs and got some good ones. I was like, "I need to try it myself too."
I will open 3 packs today because I only have 8 on my account and after that, I'll stop, just 3. I failed, I opened them all in one sitting and got some decent cards. Can you blame me? I waited too long for this chance and now it's happening. This is the most fun and exciting part of playing Splinterlands.
Right after that, I saw one video from 3Speak explaining 3 (three) reasons why you should consider not opening them just yet.
1. Potions - you must have enough potions so you'll get the maximum potential to snag some Legendary and Gold foil cards. Currently, the price of these potions is 40 DEC or 50 cents. You must have 5 legendary and 5 alchemy potions in each pack that you open. You'll have a chance to get potions as well in your daily quest rewards but most of the time you get frustrated because you want cards in your dailies, right? But not at this particular point of time in Splinterlands, a potion is a must!
2. Airdrop Points - As you all know, every day we get SPS airdrop from Splinterlands and it will depend on how many Airdrop points you have in your account. 1 Chaos Legion pack is 300 airdrop points and if you want to open it, you are guaranteed to have 1 rare and 4 commons which will only give you 40 collection power or 40 airdrop points. But of course, it depends on your luck. You might get an Epic or better.
3. CL Legendary Summoners - There are 14 special airdrop characters that will be unlocked throughout the Chaos Legion sales event. Only after a character is unlocked that it can be obtained via card packs. You might miss the chance of getting these legendary summoners if you got hit by FOMO. You know how powerful Yodin Zaku and Scarred Llama Mage are in this game, they are just examples of what type of card you might get in the coming weeks or months if you consider not opening your packs today.
I will repeat this, the most exciting part of playing Splinterlands is pack openings. And that is an understatement. Question is...
