Hello community, today my post is about the Captain Katie card from the game Splinterlands, especially I think this card is amazing and I like to combine it in my Brawl battles formations.
In this post I will present the description of the card and its abilities and I will share some battles where I combined Captian Katie in my formation, in amazing Brawl battles
STATS OF CARD
Captain Katie is a rare Gladius Edition card and therefore can only be gained through Gladius packs and can only be played in Brawl battles.
Gladius packs can be converted through Merit Points, which are earned depending on how our Guild ranks in Brawl Battle Tournaments.
Its weak point is not having armor, but it can be combined with summoners or cards with Protect abilities to get armor.
That's not why it makes it a weak card, on the contrary, its magic attack is quite strong, which combines with good health points and average speed, in which its base skill is Snipe, in addition to the Bloodlust skill that is common in all Gladius cards, in which all your attributes are increased whenever you eliminate an opposing monster, so the Bloodlust ability makes the cards quite fearsome.
At level 6, he gains a new skill, Divine Shield, in which the first attack suffered is ignored.
As you can see from the image, at the maximum level of its evolution Captain Katie is a very offensive card in its attack that can easily eliminate cards with few health points that get in its way.
BATTLE 1
This battle had a Blast and Divine Shield ruleset and had a capacity of 19 mana.
Being a Blast battle, the Snipe skill attacks monsters without attack and Ranged and Magic attack, in which it generates Blast to adjacent monsters of the attacked target, and my strategy was to use Captain Katie because Snipe skill combined with Blast gave a great chance to apply Bloodlust, because Bloodlust is activated whenever a hit target dies either by main attack or by Blast.
As Captain Katie has no armor I used the Drake of Arnak summoner with +1 armor buffer, trying to keep Captain Katie alive in combat.
As a tank I chose Djinn Chwala, a very protected card could hold the front line and with skill Thorns unlocked the cards of the Divine Shield effect.
In Brawl battles where you can use Gladius cards that have Bloodlust ability, it is a risk to use cards with few health points just to occupy the available mana, because it allows the opponent to apply Bloodlust and conditioning the battle.
And this battle is an example of that, in Captain Katie's first attack she unlocks the Divine Shield with her Snipe attack, and in her second attack she manages to eliminate three cards at once, increasing her attributes drastically which makes the battle easier, in which I end up winning easily thanks to this move by Captain Katie.
BATTLE 2
This battle as it was achieved is something of an epic level, due to the Equalizer ruleset my strategy was to combine cards with Tank Heal and Repair skills in the formation, to be able to keep my Tank alive in battle as long as possible, and to this had cards from Splinter Earth.
I had doubts as to which card I would use as a Tank that would give me greater security in battle, the best would be to combine the Shield skill with Void, but I didn't have that option available, so I chose to use Shield, combined with the Repair skill allowed me to neutralize a lot of the opponent's attacks, if the opponent used magic attacks, he had Tank Heal ability to keep the Tank in battle.
And so I chose my formation, Chaos Knight with Shield skill, Time Mage with Slow skill to reduce the speed of opponent's monsters, Scavo Hireling with Repair skill, Captain Katie due to the strength of his attack and ability to apply Bloodlust, then Venari Crystalsmith with Tank Heal skill and lastly Pelacor Arbalest with Double Strike skill.
My opponent chose two strong cards with the Double Strike ability, which would complicate the battle, in addition to also having used a monster with the Tank Heal ability and another with the Triage ability that prevented my Captain Katie card from eliminating a monster, because due to the Triage ability, monster was healed, which made a battle quite complicated.
This battle is to be seen and reviewed over and over again, the way it was achieved is excellent when Chaos Knight has a health point several times and manages to survive another round, and another round, always on the verge of being eliminated, but my healing monsters manage to keep in battle, and round by round I manage to eliminate the opponent's monsters, which end up being eliminated and I manage to finish the battle as I started without losing a single monster.
RESUME
When choosing the battle deck we have to think fast and think well where we can't always succeed with our choices.
Gladius cards are very important in Brawl battles due to their Bloodlust ability that allows them to increase their attributes and to prevent this from happening it is necessary to protect cards with few health points well.
Captain Katie is a card that I really appreciate, due to its attack strength and Snipe ability that combined with Bloodlust allows it to cause a lot of destruction in the arena.
I managed to win these two battles that I share without losing a single monster, the second battle was more fascinating because I was always on the verge of losing my tank but managed to survive time and time again until I managed to win the battle.
