Introduction
Hi everybody,
My name is and I'm here to share my challenge blog post for the Share Your Battle Challenge. The theme featured this week is Gem Meteor. It's a 5 mana card that's specialty is scatter shot which is randomly hitting an enemy card that is targetable. In my opinion, this card isn't that good but if you're able to predict that your opponent is playing taunt, it can end up useful as you want to be able to hit the backline when the opponent is playing a taunt lineup with armor repair and healers in the backline.
The Battle & Discussing My Lineup
I played this battle on my scholar account, bltzr-wizard-727. The battle link can be found here. This battle is in diamond modern league. I chose to play Kelya because of the noxious fumes ruleset and the 36 mana cap. It's strong choice because of Baakjira and cleanse strategy.
First Position, Baakjiran - I chose Baakjira to be the secondary tank and the one that would just out sustain the opponents in the noxious fumes.
Second Position, River Nymph - I chose River Nymph for the second position because this was my cleanser to remove the poison from my Baakjira.
*Third Position, Angelic Mandarin - I chose Angelic Mandarin for the third position as it helps reduce magic damage and it can heal with triage to the backline since poison would guruantee that there's two damage every round to the backline.
Fourth Position, Merdhampir - I chose Merdhampir mainly as a DPS. I specifically chose this one because it has leech so it can gain health to counter the poison. It was also a good choice due to the possibility of the opponent also using the Baakjira strategy since it can help cripple which reduces their max health so they can't heal as much.
Fifth Position, Gem Meteor - I chose Gem Meteor because I thought the opponent might use taunt and I wanted one of my monsters to be able to hit the backline. Gem Meteor can be good in these noxious fumes ruleset if it hits the right target.
Final Position, Wave Brood - I chose Wave Brood as my real tank. Wave Brood is able to taunt and soak up all the damage so my Baakjira can heal and out sustain the opponent.
Did My Strategy Work? & Would I try differently next time?
No, my strategy failed. I unfortunately got countered by Dr Blight which just re applied the poison that I cleansed as well as adding affliction. It was still a close match. If I were to try differently and had the cards to do so, I would maybe try switching Wave Brood or Gem Meteor with Dr Blight. Sadly, the scholar account doesn't have one delegated to it.
Do I Like Gem Meteor? Why Or Why Not?
To answer this, no I do not like Gem Meteor. I do not like Gem Meteor because it is a bit dependent on luck whether you hit the right target or not. There are much better options than gem meteor that can improve chances of beating an opponent but sometimes gem meteor is useful in niche scenarios where an opponent has taunt or you want to target someone other than the front line.
The End
If you made it here, thank you so much for reading all the way to the end. In my one of my past blog post, I discussed about Aruchard Bot Farm. It's basically information on how one of the strongest bot farms is running. If you are interested in this, you can find the blog here.
If you are interested in trying Splinterlands please use this link here. If you did use my referal link, let me know in the comment section, I will do my best to help whether that be delegating you cards, sending you cards and teaching you how to play. Once again, thank you so much.
