Size - Gloridax Magi are almost always unscaled Dragons, and so they are usually the size of Humans. It has always been more difficult for the larger Dragons and the scaled to conjure the complex magic used by the Magi, but there have been certain historical examples of mighty four-legged Dragons with the power of the Magi, such as the Drayke io Skelion, one of the great Dragon ancestors.
Lifespan - The magical objects on which Gloridax Magi rely often have added abilities that prolong the life of the holder. Because of the connection the Magus builds with their talismans, they can sometimes live for hundreds of years. Teruvia Velgott is currently the most acclaimed Magus of the Gloridax. Her five Orbs of Zeoth ensure that she never ages, but if the five are ever separated, her aging will catch up in mere moments and she will meet her doom.
Weapon - No matter the talismans they hold, the truest weapon of a Gloridax Magus is their magic. The magic is always enhanced and sustained by the talismans, but in most cases, the Magus would be lost without them. Gursh Buloporiax for example carries the Rod of Krefitu, which causes water to flow around him, leaving him always dry. Luro Talonkey wears the Cape of Muurgoya, which makes him invisible only to those who mean him harm. Jodra’s Cup gives her the power of flight, and Yirkwai’s Horn lets him teleport anywhere within the known dimensions. Any time a carrier of the Fire Blood develops an intimate and synergistic relationship with a magical item, a Gloridax Magus is born.
Habitat - The Gloridax Magi all must live within the city limits of Centrum, in case they are called upon for battle or something worse. They are rarely called upon, but instead enjoy a great deal of free time for study and leisure.
Diet - Some of the Gloridax Magi develop strange behaviors as a result of the relationship they hold with their talismans, and diet often plays a part. Strange food cravings are usually one of the first evidences that the magical item is taking over some of the Magus’s consciousness. Teruvia Velgott has for the last seven years eaten an absurd amount of cabbage, for example. Usually the Dragonborne despise cabbage; they have had to import cabbage from Anumün to fill the need. Luro demands that all his meat be fried, not flame-broiled per Gloridax customs. And Yirkwei has been repeatedly caught by friends and neighbors eating paper. Magical energies weigh heavily on the minds of Gloridax Magi; sometimes they knock some other things loose.
Allies - The Magi of the Gloridax are not a certified and official arm of the Gloridax military, but everyone knows they will be used if the Dragons go to war. They will always come together and follow the will of their Dragon masters. Some rumors even say that the talismans carried by the Magi were created specifically to control and even enslave their “controllers. Such a plot, complex as it may be, seems an appropriate diabolical scheme for the Dragons.
Enemies - The Magi of the Gloridax share the enemies of their Dragon Masters, such as the Priests of the Silver Shield and the Torch of the Burning Lands. The Magi are also constantly bickering with the Gloridax Guardians, their brute force counterparts in Draykh-Nahka. Individual Magi have widely differing personalities, so they also have their own quarrels and feuds with a variety of people and monsters from around the Splinterlands.
Pastimes - Gloridax Magi are invited to all the Dragons’ parties and events of society, but they rarely attend. The relationship between a Magus and the talisman they hold always becomes the most important relationship in their life, and to outsiders it looks like nothing more than obsession. The talisman of a Magus is always within their grasp; Yirkwei, Luro and Teruvia never even allow their talismans to break physical contact with their bodies. For fear of leaving their talismans alone, the Magi are only able to sleep for about an hour at a time, which frees even more of their time for study and practice.
