This art piece was inspired by a deadly combination in the water splinter. I had seen a YouTube video by where he talked about using back tanks with triage and soon thereafter I saw this post @tt88/splinterlands-learning-from-my-opponent-the-combo-taunt-double-heal-used-in-a-way-i-didn-t-expect by
I bought up a Wave Brood early on but after trying it in a couple of battles, I decided that it didn't do enough damage to be very useful. I was wrong. Wave Brood only does 1 damage per turn but that's plenty when it can soak up 8 damage or more per turn and stay standing to protect the rest of your team. The combination is not unbeatable and I can readily think of a few ways to beat it, but the combo is strong. Here's an example.

It took 13 rounds, but it got the job done. I've had about a 75% win rate with this combo. I actually waited to post this until I was able to buy a couple of Crustacean Kings, so that I wouldn't get burned trying to buy them after my audience sees how effective the combo is. Crustacean King is an old card from Alpha and Beta so there's not a huge supply.
I started out by drawing Crustacean King in a lifting position.
After I finished the King, I wasn't sure if I would have room to fit Wave Brood, but it fit well and used up the space on my page well too.
I watched an online drawing tutorial where they said that using a fine marker for your outline would make the colors pop.
That same tutorial recommended starting with lighter colors before the dark ones. I colored Wave Brood first with colored pencils.
and followed that with the lighter colors on Crustacean King.
I actually didn't love my coloring job. I much preferred my initial sketch of the 2 characters.
If you can figure out how, I would recommend printing the initial sketch for you and/or your kids/family to color in. I bet that some of you could do better with the colors than I did.
I got my wife and kids to color some with me. My youngest saw the mouth parts on Crustacean King and said "those are his private parts"
Here are the pictures that my family and I colored in after my initial attempt.
Please post your colored pictures in the replies. Those who post their colored pictures in the replies will be entered into my next free card giveaway which is soon to follow this post.
Thanks again for all who like, reply, repost and follow. I'll see you in the game.
