Hive account@splinterlands have been doing weekly AMA's have posted a couple of them on Youtube. I have found them extremely useful and insightful. He is a golden nugget I leaned from today's AMA. The price of DEC will more than likely go up a decent amount in the next month or so. The plan on implementing some of the new guild features and selling land in the near future and DEC will be one of the main ways to do this. It is just a prediction but you might want to hold on to your DEC for a little while. Another really cool thing coming soon will be the Dice which will be the Orb replacement and will cost a little bit more than the orbs did. 
Hive account@aggroed mentioned that he feels good about the fact they are reaching a good pace of new things on their plate and things being completed and taken off.
