Why do I keep making earning updates?
This is the third time I am breaking down the earnings I get from posting articles about the game. My goal with those earning updates is mainly to help new players assess how much they might earn by adding blogging to their Splinterlands' journey.
My FIRST week of blogging on Splintertalk. What to expect for new bloggers!
My FIRST MONTH of blogging on Splintertalk. What to expect for new bloggers! [EARNINGS BREAKDOWN]
I've already revealed my earnings twice; after the 1st week and then, at the 1st-month mark. These posts helped me keep track of the progress I made. Please, also keep in mind that my account is only one example among many. Depending on your own success, you might do much better than me.
However, I try to give a realistic overview for players just starting this on the side without any already-built audience from other platforms. I hope you'll find valuable information in the following post.
I feel like the next few months will be the best time for fairly new players to accumulate assets before lands come and shake things out. The more time I'll have, the better.
Comparison Table
| After a month | After two months (cumulative) | |
|---|---|---|
| Articles: | 35 | → 69 |
| Upvotes: | 804 | → 1404 |
| Followers: | 12 | → 27 |
| Comments: | 90 | → 174 |
Gross Pay
| TOTAL (in dollars): | 1st month: $163.28 | 2nd month: $164.35 |
|---|---|---|
| Splintertalk: | 6785.97 SPT (~$20.15) | 1262.83 (~$2.26) |
| PeakD: | 106.56 HBD (~$108.96) | 180.26 (~$157.90) |
| 1Up: | 977.49 OneUp (~$34.17) | 242.15 (~$4.19) |
Remark: The amounts in dollars are rough estimates as they might fluctuate from day-to-day. 50% of the gains actually go to the curators. The other 50% is the Net Pay, which is half liquid/half staked.
People I need to thank!
Finally, thank you to all the people who passed by and upvoted, reblogged, or commented in one of my posts this past month.
The Pareto Principle (80/20 rule)
"The Pareto Principle states that 20 percent of your activities will account for 80 percent of your results, however, it is not a hard and fast mathematical law. It is a concept."
The 80/20 rule also applies in the context of blogging on Splintertalk. For players who want to maximize their earnings while spending the least amount of time, I would suggest the following:
Participate in the weekly challenges organized by Splinterlands to get potential upvotes from .
There are, to my knowledge, at least 3 challenges per week.
https://www.splintertalk.io/@splinterlands/
- SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge!
- SOCIAL MEDIA Challenge!
- ART CONTEST!
Personally, I make a point of posting an article a day because it keeps me accountable and consistent. That being said, the reality is that the majority of my earnings currently comes from my contribution to those challenges.
If you are considering writing about the game, I hope this post was helpful in some ways.
