So Federer is now through to the final of the Australian Open.
I must admit I didn't think 5 years ago that in 2018 he would be defending his title in another Grand Slam final! It is a truly outstanding achievement!
His opponent in the semis was Chung Hyeon from South Korea but after suffering badly with blisters he had to retire with the match at 6-1 5-2 to Federer.
I think Federer would have won the 2nd and taken the 3rd set even if his opponent was in full health. Even though it was a great tournament for Chung and he could be one to watch in the future.
As for Federer at 36 he is an inspiration and always good for the game to see him competing in Grand Slam finals!
Looking forward to the final on Sunday where he'll take on the Croatian Cilic!
