Sup SteemSquad
So the world cup has kicked off and many steemians are getting in on the action with prediction score games, reviews of the games, opinions of who they think will win it and who they are supporting for the tournament and it's really livened up my feed which has been pretty slow as of late.
I've been going through tons of World cup content on the site and I didn't see much love for stand out players for each game and I thought it would be a cool series of posts to run with for the next month.
This is my second post in the series. If you'd like to check out the previous ones I'll keep listing them here:

England vs Panama
Clinical in front of goal and a large bit of luck made sure Harry Kane gets the man of the match award. Kane had three shots on target (although he knew little about his final effort) and three goals - the Tottenham striker now has five goals in this tournament and is short odds to win the Golden Boot. He leads the line well and stepped up to convert 2 penalties without flinching, something Messi can't say in this tournament.
The hattrick also makes Kane only the third England player to score a hat-trick in a World Cup match, after Geoff Hurst against Germany in the 1966 final and Gary Lineker against Poland in 1986.
Japan vs Senegal
The Liverpool forward showed off why his so converted by the Kop. His work rate, driving runs and constant pressing make him a nuisance for any defence. It was this exact style of play that lead him to what could be seen as a touch of fortune.Sadio Mane's goal may have more luck than skill involved in it but he did provide some of Senegal's best moments as they secured what could be a crucial point.

Poland vs Colombia
James Rodriguez may not have got on the scoresheet but he was top of your ratings in Colombia's 3-0 win over Poland. The Bayern number 10 proved his worth with two assists in this game. James has been his countries most creative outlet and has been involved in 10 of Colombia's past 14 World Cup goals.
Have your say
So there you have it, the stand out players from the last 3 games. Two Man United Strikers (one current and one former) coming up tops this week for their countries so no real surprise there. But in Olsen, we were really given a show right up until the last minute when he was beaten by a rasping free-kick from Kroos
Who do you think was your stand out player in matchday 1 so far? Would love to hear your feedback as matches start coming thick and fast. So drop me a comment or a link to your review of world cup stand out players
