World Cup Players of the round: Round of 16

So the world cup has kicked off and many steemians are getting in on the action with prediction score games, reviews of the games, opinions of who they think will win it and who they are supporting for the tournament and it's really livened up my feed which has been pretty slow as of late.

I've been going through tons of World cup content on the site and I didn't see much love for stand out players for each game and I thought it would be a cool series of posts to run with for the next month.

Brazil vs Mexico

Overatted at times and he divides opinions especially since he had another of his mixed games with flashes of brilliance combined with overplaying and some selfish play. Neymar, however, will be remembered for scoring one and making the second and helping Brazil reach the last 8.

Honourable mention

I've also selected this guy before and I can't deny I knew little about him before the world cup but Hirving Lozano has really shown what a class act he can be. He was the biggest danger in this Mexican side, his tireless running, skill and confidence posed problems for Brazil particularly on the counter

Belgium vs Japan

While the match ended in heartbreak but Takashi Inui, he was excellent for Japan with his goal and his tireless running down the left, stretching the Belgian back 3 and creating chances for his team mates. This is the second time i've selected him as a man of the match and Inui has had an amazing tornament and a player to watch in La Liga this season if he can keep up the form he showed for his country. He is without a doubt one of the gems uncovered in Russia.

So there you have it, the stand out players from the last 2 games. This round goes to one World superstar and one surprise package from this years World Cup. Just goes to show in the business end of the cup its all about heart, perssitance and quality
