I found a lot of information on the redbull site and polish site mtb.pl.
Kelly died on February 1, 2016. It was a "black day" for the freeride culture. A well-known freerider Kelly McGarry has been involved in a well-known bike park in Queensland. As a result of falling with a huge impetus, cardiac arrest stopped. Despite many attempts of the medics, the New Zealander failed to save ...
Kelly has been in the forefront of most professions in which he participated for years.
On his account there were many excellent bicycle feats thanks to which he signed up on the pages of mtb history. However, it was his personality, willingness to help others and a huge sense of humor that made him win over people.
Here you can see the backflip of the 72ft cliff:
McGazza often went out of a lot of bicycle oppression - including famous soil during the Red Bull Rampage, in which he literally crushed the wheels in his bike, or a severe fall on the stairs during a bicycle event in China (video below). The New Zealander knew the taste of risk and cracked bones, which is an inseparable element of a professional practicing extreme sport. This time, the consequences of falling in a bike park proved to be the most dangerous and the most destructive to his health.
The day of February 1, 2016 will go down in history as a black Monday. This is a great loss not only for the professional freeride and slopestyle scene, but also for the entire mtb culture. In the end, only 33 years old New Zealander was considered one of the brightest and most positive people in the industry for many years. It was also a sensational showcase of what is called New Zealand loose. Unfortunately, fate is merciless. It is certain, however, that Kelly McGarry loved freeride, so he spent the last moments of his life realizing his greatest passion.
