The legend could not in its last race of the 100 meters flat. Usain Bolt gave way to American Justin Gatlin in an unexpected close.
The American completed a time of 9.92 seconds and was left with the gold medal. Behind him was his compatriot Christian Coleman, with a time of 9.94.
Usain Bolt settled for bronze at 9.95, and will have to wait if he complies with what he had announced: This will be his last 100 meters flat race.
