Jamaican Usain Bolt made his debut in qualifying for the 100 meters flat at the World Athletics Championships in London in 2017.
Without problems, the athlete prevailed with 10.8 seconds and classified to the semifinals of the contest.
Left behind were the British James Dasaolu (10,13), the Frenchman Jimmy Vicaut (10,15) and the Japanese Shuhei Tada (10,19).
The American Christian Coleman, who until now has the best record of the season (9.82) also won in his series.
With 10.1 seconds, the 21-year-old athlete emerges as Bolt's successor if he decides to retire from athletics at age 31.
