Hello Steemians, I will share with you an exhausted but also proud moment of my life!
On Sunday I run my first half marathon in Hamburg. After the 20, 0925 km I was very exhausted but on the other side happy and a proud of myself that I did it. In January 2017 I decided to run a half marathon.
After the second I made this decision I began to train for it. I started twice a week with a distance of 5 km and tried to make progress. After a short time I fall in love with running because during a run nobody could reach me and I thought about things.
Four weeks before the half marathon I got sick and couldn’t train. So I struggled I if should start. But after a day thinking about it I decided to start and would try to finish the half marathon.
Three days before the half marathon I run 10 km to look how fast I can run and also know my pace for the half marathon.
The day of the race started a little stressful but after the first 5 km I felt very great and I know that I would did it to the finish line. After 17 km I struggled if I would make it. The last three kilometers were the hardest my legs burned and I didn’t want to run further. But I said to myself DON’T GIVE UP you did it so far. So I run on and made it under 2 Hours in 1:57:55. It was a great feeling and I am so happy that I decided to run the race and made this unique experience.
What did I learn from this half marathon?
I learned several things about myself and skills for life e.g. patience, hard work, and to go on my limits. Another thing was to execute. Tip from me start a second after you decided something than you have the momentum on your side!
Is hear anyone who run a half marathon in his life?
If you have any questions about my training or nutrition write a comment and I will answer your question:)
Hope you have a great day!
Nils
