It's been long time when Škoda was present in top WRC category. It was season 2005 with Fabia WRC and active differentials. At the end of the season, even Colin McRae's performances in Wales and Australia couldn't help to save the team. They had really bad results in top category.
Next season was 2006 and they gave their works cars to BRR private team who ran it whole season. In 2006 cars had passive central differential so there were some progress. They even paid some top WRC guys (small salary) to drive it - Panizzi, Rovanpera, Duval (for Belgium private team First Motorsport) and Aigner (who became group N World Rally Champion those days).
After that everything is known - first Fabia S2000, then Fabia R5... What's next? WRC car? VW Polo WRC is history but they are the same brand - VAG. Maybe they will allow to work on WRC project in year of two. Maybe not.
