The Argentine Football Association has appointed two coaches, Pablo Aimar and Lionel Scaloni, to lead the team in the next two matches
The two new coaches will only work in two friendly games to meet Guatemala and Colombia. The Argentine Football Federation has not yet appointed a manager for the squad after firing Jorge Sampaoli.
Aimar and Scaloni are not too familiar with football fans. The first player has played for Valencia and Benfica, and the latter is the deacon of Deportivo and Lazio. As a young man, Lionel Messi - the Argentine captain now - considered Aimar an idol.
Aimar and Scaloni have also had many years playing for the team as a player. In 2006, two former midfielders and Messi were included in the list of 23 players to the quarterfinals of the World Cup.
Aimar and Scaloni are co-coaches of the Argentina U20 squad. The pair are in the same league as COTIF in Spain.
After coaching the team to show a sluggish play and eliminated in the first round, coach Sampaoli paid the price of the chair he once sat.
