Are you ready for some football…contests?
It’s that time of year again! The NFL and NCAAF seasons are just around the corner and we’re about to fire things up for a second football season on Steemit! There will be a lot happening this year, so let’s get right to it!
Contests Managed by
Just like last season, I will be running two different football contests. The first will be the Winner-Takes-All format which will start with Week 1 and conclude with Week 17. The second will be the Free-For-All format which has no definite start/ending dates. Contests will be run as follows:
Winner-Takes-All
Each week, I will select five games from which contestants will make their winning picks. There will be one winner who will receive a portion of the post rewards for that week.
Records from each week will be carried over for season-ending standings. In order to qualify for placement at the end of the year, contestants must participate in a minimum of seven (7) weeks of selections.
Those who have qualified for the specified number of spots will receive a season-ending payout and may be selected for a playoff challenge. (This is still to be determined, so no guarantees on format or placement yet – I will keep you updated).
A portion of post rewards will be dedicated to both a season-ending payout and my fantasy sports development fund that was started early this year.
Free-For-All
For a given week, I will select one game (either NFL or NCAAF) and choose five player/team statistics for that game. (For example: Total QB passing yards or the number of missed field goals.)
Contestants will enter their best guess for the statistics selected for the chosen game. Each statistical category will have a winner or multiple winners who will receive a portion of the post rewards. A contestant can win more than one category – there is no limit.
The full contest will conclude each week. There will be no season statistics or payouts.
A portion of post rewards will be dedicated to my fantasy sports development fund that was started early this year.
Here is an example of the Free-For-All format from last season’s Super Bowl:

These are format overviews. Additional rules for each format will be provided in the weekly contest posts.
Fantasy Football Leagues
If you have not already signed up for one of the fantasy NFL leagues we are running and are interested in participating, please let me know or contact via Steemit.chat. For more information about the leagues, please see this post:
Steemit Fantasy Football League, by @bigpchef
We are currently coordinating sign-ups, drafting prize payouts, and discussing possible playoff rules and formats. We need a full head-count within the next couple of days so that we can coordinate draft times and purchase additional leagues, if necessary.
We hope to make this fun and league managers will provide weekly updates on the fantasy progress. If you know anyone who would like to participate, please let them know and if they haven’t signed up for Steemit yet, bring them in!
