At the age of 35 Roger Federer has won his ninth title at the Gerry Weber Open in Halle, Germany!
He was facing the young German Alexander Zverev who previously beat him last year in the semi-finals of this very tournament.
It was yet another truly outstanding performance from the legendary Swiss Player as he won the match 6-1 6-3 in 53 minutes.
Incredibly he won the first set in 22 minutes after racing to a 4-0 lead! In the second set he only once looked like being broken but he was never really in any major trouble.
Federer to me is an outstanding example of a professional athlete! What he is doing in the game right now let alone his glorious past is inspiring! He is pushing boundaries that no player has done before him and not only that, he is doing it in style, just amazing!!!
With Wimbledon about a week away Federer will be the man to beat, and if he wins Wimbledon for an eighth time it will be one of the greatest achievements of all time in any sport!
