Tennis is back on the table, after Wimbledon and it will be an interesting period, since Murray and Wawrinka are back, with Djokovic good as before, and some youngster in the background.
This week, fights are in Canada, Toronto, and will be very interesting.
Four parts of draw will be analysed:
- in the first part, there is Nadal, but also Wawrinka and Cilic, but we also do not have to forget Schwartzmann and US Querrey - will be very interesting to watch, specially possible match between Wawrinka and Nadal, and Cilic afterwards, but Nadal is seen as favorite from this part of draw to go to semifinal.
- in the second part, competition is easier, Del Potro seems to be the best, there is Isner, after good Wimbledon appearance, but also Shapovalov and Khachanov as possible semifinalist. Shapovalov could make a difference from this part and get to semifinal, to play Nadal, as two left-handed match.
- in the third part, there are Dimitrov, Anderson, Raonic, but who ever gets to semifinal from this part, will be easy for fourth part player, and Raonic play in first round gives him best chances
- in the fourth part, there is Djokovic, but also Thiem and Zverev, Zverev should not have many troubles in two rounds to face winner of probable Djokovic - Thiem match, and that QF Djokovic - Zverev is final before final. Winner of this match will probably win the tournament.
In predicted semifinals, should be Nadal - Shapovalov and Raonic - Djokovic, and final should be between Nadal and Djokovic.
Djokovic is at his highest in two years, after Wimbledon title, and Nadal is in good form, but his games on hard surface are not that good. Djokovic has four titles from five finals at Canada open, three times in three sets, in last 10 seasons only when he is in the final, there are three sets. On the other hand, Nadal did lose final in Canada open, has three titles, only one in Toronto, other two in Montreal. It should be a good match, which can direct the rest of the season and place Djokovic back on first place at the end of the season.
