Fans of the England based Chelsea football club have been disappointed so many times recently by their beloved team. Many have attributed this numerous disappointments to Hazard's dwindling performance, Morata's inconsistent goal scoring, the half-dead midfield and also, the rigid nature of tactical positioning.
Now, most of these issues can be solved by tactical adjustments and timely substitutions. Basically, that is the work of the coach. He was employed to diagnose and adjust the performance of the team.
In my own opinion, Antonio Conte is a very rigid coach. He has a plan that worked at some point but is no longer working. As it is, any observer can clearly see that the squad on display cannot carry out the plan anymore nor can they successfully orchestrate the 3-4-3 formation he is so fond of.
My advice therefore, is certainly not for Chelsea to get a new coach, but for Conte to choose his tactics based on his opponents tactics and adjust when necessary during the course of a match. Plans fail, he should always have a backup plan and then a backup plan for the backup plan. Rigidity has no place in sports
