This is one game I thought would be a rout. I think City is right now the best team in Europe and even though I like Dortmund, they are a team that nearly always ends up losing badly in games like this. In fact Dortmund were way better than City in the first half and were the only team that had a shot at goal in this half. As usual City had possession but in this first half they had a serious lack of ideas.
The second half started out the same, City holding the ball but with really boring football, no shots at goal. I was really seeing Dortmund as a more serious threat and Bellingham proved it when he headed in their only goal. In spite of this setback City continued playing the same and it wasn't until Silva and Foden came in that City changed.
A magnificent goal by Stones, of all on the field he is the last one I expected to score and then a perfect Cancelo pass and Halland jumped and kicked the ball in, and I mean jump, his foot must have been over six feet in the air. That was it City took the three points despite a last minute scare which nearly cost them two points.
So City did not play up to expectations, but they were good enough to take three points despite their lack lustre game. I am guessing obviously, but I think this their European year, they deserve that Cup. Of course I prefer Liverpool winning it, but that looks extremely difficult.
