Hi guys, i just want to share one of my superfood for my long distance training which is dark chocolate. Well, many studies and researches had shown proven results on cocoa for health and fitness especiallt lowering vlood pressure, increase blood circulation and many more.
But for me as an amateur long distance runner, those results are merely a suggestion because I learned that different body react differently especially on nutrition. So, since dark chocolate is consider healthy due to low in sugar, without milk and its delicious why not I become the guinea pig to experiment the results🤣🤣.
Experiment results are based on probability, which is the more testing i conducted, the more accurate the results. Therefore, I bought 4 bars of 100gm extra dark chocolate and tested for 1 month. I tried it by 10gm in the morning and 10gm 30 minutes before my run. For info, I run approximately 7km-10km a day for 6 days a week. So, in I week i will consume roughly 100gm or 1 pack of dark cholate.
The results were superb, which I can run longer due to extra energy, my heart rate didnt shoot up easily which meaned I can run faster. These are the most essential part for runners " run longer and faster". Therefore, in my humble opinion, dark chocolate is one of my superfood, and recommended for runners.
My suggestion to buy dark chocolate is very simple, choose the highest percentage of dark chocolate at the label, usually stated between 70% to 85%. Aside from that, please read the ingredients and the back of the package. The first ingredient usually has the highest amount of content. If is stated sugar as their main ingtedient, is is not recommended to consumer, if it stated cocoa mass, then that is the right choice.
