Deluxe Skijump or shorter DSJ is a very popular and known Ski Jumping video game.
It's made by a Finish company Mediamond, and it's been on PCs from year 1999, all over the globe.
It's especially popular in countries like Poland,Slovenija,Finland,Japan.
It started of as
DSJ 1
The first version is very much like the second DSJ 2
And it's only in the third version the graphics and physics started developing
DSJ 4, the latest of the Deluxe series is an overhauled version of the game, with even better physics, graphics and interface of the sport of Skijumping.
It offers more in the way of a real life ski jump experience, with having a detailed wind influence on the jumper,
his leg and body movements are a lot less rigid, the jumper at times seems even a bit too flexible/agile for his own good.
The competition is interchangable between a mild experience into a fierce competitive environment, which can be a really tough nut, sometimes impossible to break.
The feature I was most impressed with is how detailed the movement of the skis is and how much the wind plays a part in your jump. It's no longer a jump where a jumper goes through a single wind coridor, but a really complex sophisticated way of maneuvering the wind with the help of your flexible legs and skis, timing of the take-off, transitioning from the take-off into the start of the flight, continuing into the middle part of the flight, and there's ofcourse the landing, which can be especially tricky if you are too high off the ground.
It's no longer the game of who can jump the furthest, but a real finesse of a skijump, something like we've never seen before.
I take my hat off to Mediamond, Thank You for this great video game.
I hope It can inspire you into playing it, BUT be careful, It's Really Difficult, so you might opt for starting at DSJ 2, DSJ 4 could be a dealbreaker for you, for it takes a lot of practice to become even slightly competitive.
The game is only Demo, so you'd have to pay for it to play the full version, but as always, there are ways to get around that hurdle.
Should you be interested in the FULL VERSION, I'd be more than glad to help you.
YOU WON'T BE SORRY
