Oh, Lady Luck, what a fiendish and confusing companion you most surely are! Yesterday Luck took the upper hand over Judgement in this Trixie Challenge but was lucky or was he the opposite?
Was it good luck that Hello Bob won at Musselburgh and Larry placed at Newbury? Or was it bad luck that Lucky Lodge was beaten out of third place by a short neck at Newcastle? Had that last horse placed then returns for Luck would have been over twelve quid and not just the £2.34 he ended up with. As it is Luck remains in a hole but at least he stands on the shoulders of Judgement.
Today I am sticking to my plan, playing the handicaps, looking for course and distance form, an eye on the jockeys. I’ll admit it hasn’t worked so far on the trixie front but I am comfortably ahead on the hypothetical-level-stakes-profit-and-loss situation. Will my fortunes change today? Well, even judgement needs a little luck from time to time!
This today from as random puts some odds on the table:
”Well pot luck could make us richish. Gut feeling selections again because trying to force a connection doesn’t work. However we have the sublime and the ridiculous - 100/1 and 9/2 separated by 28/1...”
