With QB Deondre Francois reeling from a rib injury against Clemson and not practicing much during the week, quarterback James Blackman would be the signal caller. The Seminoles opened as a 7 point underdog and this quickly got bid up to 9.5 points.
For all those who took NC state they covered easily as the Wolfpack blew out the Seminoles, 47-28.
All day long the Seminoles struggled on defense and poor field position plus a few turnovers was a recipe for a disaster. Sophomore quarterback, James Blackman had an impressive day with over 400 yards passing and four touchdowns. Although he made a few bad decisions he quickly moved onto to the next play.
Although the defense held NC State four field goal attempts they only forced two punts all day. Ryan Finley carved up the Seminole secondary and played turnover free football. The Seminole defensive line was unable to stop the NC State ground attack all game long.
With that loss the Seminoles need to win 2 out of their next 3 games in order to get back to a bowl game. I do not expect this to happen though.. there are too many issues on the offensive line.
