Jay Cutler may be coming out of his very brief retirement and take his talents to South Beach.
Miami Dolphins Starting QB, Ryan Tannehill, suffered a brutal left knee injury in practice this week. He has had problems with this leg in years past and although the injury came on a non contact play, it appears that he will miss a significant amount of time and possibly the entire season.
So why does Jay Cutler make sense for the Dolphins? Cutler has only been “retired” for a few months and should still be in good shape. He was pretty open that he wanted to continue to play but only if he would be a starting QB. Miami Dolphins head coach, Adam Gase, was the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears when Jay Cutler has his best season for the Bears in 2015. He had his highest passer rating out of his 11 year career and Gase was very vocal about his support for Cutler. But Adam Gase accepted the job to be the Head Coach in Miami and Cutler was never the same.
Is there any chance that Colin Kaepernick steals the job from Jay Cutler? No way in hell, and here are a few reasons why. Miami has a 34% Cuban Population. Many of those people fled the island or have family members that have. Fidel Castro and his administration beat, murdered and oppressed the Cuban people for decades. His firing squads were one of the most horrific atrocities of the 20th Century. Castro is not loved by the Cuban population in Miami, he is despised. And the ignorant Kaepernick, proudly wears his Pro Castro t-shirt all of the time in public and at press conferences. This would not go over well for the Dolphin Organization and fanbase. Also, Jay Cutler is simply a much better talent.
The Miami Dolphins have a ton of talent at WR and RB. A reunion of Adam Gase and Jay Cutler could prove for a very potent offense. It would take little time for Cutler to get down the playbook as it is similar to what Gase called in Chicago. This is the best scenario possible for the Dolphins, considering that they just lost their starter.
I will be shocked if this deal isn't done and done in the next 24 hours. Do you think Jay Cutler will be a Dolphin this year? Will he save their season or be a disappointment like he was in Chicago? Tell us what you think! Cheers!
