No. Not this clown. That is Andy the Clown who is a Chicago Legend!
I used to be a Chicago White Sox fan. I used to religiously go to at least ten games per year. I even bought a full game season ticket plan once... and then the very next day Robin Ventura suffered one of the most horrify ankle/foot dislocations ever. I used to not only know every single player on the Major League roster but I could tell you exactly how the Sox acquired him. I used to clear my head and fall asleep by reciting the White Sox 1993 every day lineup (It was Tim Raines, Joey Cora, Frank Thomas, George Bell, Robin Ventura, Ellis Burks, Lance Johnson, Ron Karkovice, and Ozzie Guillen by the way). I used to root for a team who recently won the World Series (21 years ago).
And then their owner, Jerry freaking Reinsdorf, murdered the little baseball angel that sat on my shoulder and watched over me at night. No. That is not enough. He tortured and murdered that little baseball angel while he made me watch in horror.
Now I can't name a single player on the team. Not one. I don't know anything about any of them. Apparently, this qualifies me for the job of General manager of the Chicago White Sox because he doesn't seem to know shit either. In case you were wondering (I know no one is) Chris Getz is the current GM of the Chicago White Sox. It seems Reinsdorf has a thing for making unqualified, former bad infielders, the GM of his baseball team. And I am not saying I'm qualified because I'm making fun of all of the horrible moves Getz has made since he took over as the GM. It's the White Sox. That is a given.
But here is what Getz and I have in common. I don't know anything about Luisangel Acuna either. Who is Luisangel Acuna (aside from a guy who has an incredibly cool first name)? He was the corner stone of the trade that sent one time can't miss prospect Luis Robert Jr. to the New York mets. In case you were wondering (I know no one is) the White Sox are awesome at making can't miss prospects miss horribly (I'm talking to you number one prospects Yoan Moncada and Michael Kopek).
Chris Getz pictured here with all of the other general managers who don't know about the players they trade for.
Anyway back to Luisangel Acuna (I'm writing it as many times as possible now since the White Sox will undoubtedly destroy what could have been a promising career and we will never hear form him again). Chris Getz LOVES Acuna. You know one of the things he loves best? The fact that he is so versatile and is a switch hitter. There is only one problem with that. Luisangel Acuna is not a switch hitter. He only bats from the right side. Should you know that? No. Should I know that? No. Should the guy in charge of every other team in the major leagues know that? Yes. Should the guy in charge of the White Sox know that? Of course not.
Remember, The White Sox are a complete freaking clown show. And that is what clown shows do. Oh and they lose. They lose a lot!
