Brasstown Bald is the highest point in Georgia, and it certainly feels like it when you are pedaling a bike to the top. The grade of the road is 20% in spots, so your legs are definitely burning near the summit. Having experienced the pain of racing up that mountain myself, I was always interested in watching the pros attack it when the Tour de Georgia stage included a finish at the top. Sure those guys made it to the top a lot faster than I ever did, but it was still satisfying to see that they were hurting the entire time too.
