FEU Tamaraws and the UP Fighting Maroons immediately showed fierce game in the opening of the second round of the UAAP Season 82 men's basketball tournament.
The game ended in the OT where FEU eventually won 82-79.
In the 4th quarter of the game with 5:58 remaining, UP forced to chase FEU's 16 point lead with a 16-0 run that allowed them to close the score to 69-69
The score was still tight in the extra period when it struck again at 77.
Ken Tuffin led his way with 18 points with 5-of-6 clips from 3-point range.
L-Jay Gonzales contributed 17 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the Tamaraws.
This is the Maroons' first game without coach Bo Perasol.
UP still holds the solo second spot in their 5-3 win-loss record, while FEU is in third place with La Salle and UST for their 4-4 slate.
