The World Cup was decided today in the most dramatic circumstances possible. England V New Zealand was a tight match, full of twists and turns befiting a final. The teams could not be split after 50 overs, with both scoring 241 runs during the alotted time. A super over was needed, kind of like the penalty shootout of cricket. 1 over each, most runs wins. Again, the teams were level, and a countback was required. The winner was declared as England as they had scored more boundaries during the match.

Congratulations to England, the home side winning their first World Cup. Well done to New Zealand, matching the hosts all the way, and only loosing on a technicality. One Day games, and tournaments can throw up all sorts of drama, and to have such a tight match as the final of the tournament was great for cricket.
Thanks for reading, have a great day.
