Indonesian long jump runner, Maria Natalia Londa, regretted her failure to present medals at the 2018 Asian Games. Maria Londa was determined to jump further at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
"May be given health and given fluency until the 2020 Olympics. Also given the opportunity to jump even further," Maria Londa said after the race.
Maria Londa failed to win a medal because she only recorded the farthest jump distance of 6.45 meters. The 27-year-old woman was far less than a Vietnamese athlete, Bui Thi Thu Thao, who had a 6.55-meter jump while sealing a gold medal.
According to Maria Londa, there were no difficulties experienced during the race. Maria Londa tried hard by saying that the results had become the best for her.
"There were no difficulties at all. Everything went smoothly from the start of the warm-up to the end of the game. Maybe, fifth position is the best for me," Maria Londa said.
"The first winner jumped 6.55 meters. It was also far below my best achievement. Maybe it's not just sustenance," Maria Londa said.
Bui Thi Thu Thao is the opponent who defeated Maria Londa in the SEA Games Kuala Lumpur gold medal in 2017. What Maria Londa said was quite reasonable because she had the best jump record of 6.70 meters in the 2015 Singapore SEA Games.
Maria Londa's failure to make the athletic sport has yet to present a gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games. The athletic medal was from Emilia Nova (hurdles) who won silver and Sapwaturrahman (men's long jump) who won bronze.
