THEME: HAUNTED SPIDER
A Monster Introduction
Stats and Whatnot
Edition: ALPHA OR BETA
Rarity: COMMON
Element: DEATH
ATTACK: RANGED
ABILITIES: Poison at level 4
Lore
ARMORED THORAX, it's right there in the lore. Did they decide that armor on the Haunted Spider was just too much for 3 mana. I mean it probably would be but maybe up at level 8 or so? Anyhow, who are these Dark Eternals and why are they taking on a second form? What happened to their first form?
The second form of a Dark Eternal is determined by the state of the soul. Some of the more twisted souls take insect form, and the Haunted Spider is the favorite. The projectile venom and massive, armored thorax make the Haunted Spider a formidable (and intimidating) enemy in any battle.
Acquisition
As this is either an Alpha or Beta edition card you have 2, maybe 3 options. You can purchase it directly, you could trade for it, or you could make it rain by buying a Alpha or Beta pack. I suppose you could also rent it but I don't know enough about that to really speak to it.
We Want a Fight!
League: Gold 2
Rating: 2037
Ruleset: Weak Magic
Mana: 99
Splinters: Water, Death and Dragon
Starting Lineup:
Moderately fast at 3 speed with great health (11), a massive attack at (5) but a hefty price tag at (9) mana. At lower levels I feel there are much better tanking choices on the death team but at level 5 it comes with Trample and sometimes you just want to see some serious violence.
2nd TANK:
THE GORLODON!
He's large, he hits really hard with a massive melee attack and with reach he is pretty great for the 2 spot. Definitely a great 2 spot if you cannot get an Undead Pegasus.
DAMAGE 2 / UTILITY 1: HAUNTED SPIDER!
Here it is, our featured monster. She only gets 1 ability and not until level 4 but Poison is arguably one of the best abilities. Poison can totally be the difference maker especially up against a healer. Also with such a low mana cost she can be slotted into many lineups.
ALTERNATE TANK / DAMAGE 4 / UTILITY 3: DARK HA'ON!
This card has Taunt and Flying. By putting it at the back of the line it draws fire away from my tank which has no armor and since it has a decent speed plus flying comes with a pretty decent chance to dodge attacks and extend is utility in the match.

LOVE THEM OR HATE THEM
Definitely a Death splinter favorite as it fits into so many lineups and poison is such a seriously advantageous ability at almost all levels.
