- Q. WHAT IS HAPPENING DECEMBER 1, 2019 ON THE STEEM BLOCKCHAIN?
- A. SPUD-8
There are a few days left before the coming holiday, and then the 1st will be upon us soon after. SPUD is still a novelty to many in the STEEM community, so we need to get the word out to as many Steemians as possible. Things are looking up for the future of SPUD, as well as for the STEEM Blockchain, its community, and the cryptocurrency community in general.
It is now ten years into the crypto-revolution. I think it is safe to now state with almost sure certainty that cryptocurrencies and blockchain are here to stay. There is no going back and putting the genie back in the bottle. We can only look forward to a future where crypto-currencies and blockchain will play a significant role in the lives of many throughout the Globe. I firmly believe that the Steem Blockchain, having a first movers advantage with a solid technology supporting its blockchain and a solid user baser, will be a long term player in this new Crypto-World. I think that once the Crypto-Spring fully blossoms, Metcalfe's Law will surely jump start the STEEM price.
In the meantime, we can All do our part by supporting those that are currently here, but need a jump start to their STEEM journey. Steem Power Up Day and the SPUD8 prizes are a part of that effort to promote those up and coming young Steemians looking for there footing, or shall we say gills, here in the Steem ocean.

Now for those of you considering making a run at the SPUD-8 Prizes, here is a pertinent question before the Steem Magic 8-Ball.
- Q. WILL THERE BE SERIOUS COMPETITION FOR SPUD-8 PRIZES?
- A. MOST LIKELY.
Here is a screen shot of the SPUD7 Prize winners and what it took for them to get there, just to give you an idea of what it might take to grab a prize.
One thing to note, at this point we do have over 12500+ in STEEM POWER Delegation prizes, as well as some other smaller prizes, with some up coming prize additions, BUT, as of now there are only 5 places OR prizes, not 20 like the last SPUD.
