Hi Hivers,
I am gonna show you today why I still pay a lot for my electricity.
My house uses some 1900 KWh per annum and this just asks for solar panels to be installed on the roof. However our largest roof is pointing west and the flat roof on the garage is partly shaded by the neighboor's house.
The last few years I tried to find out where else we could place solar panels as I have a deep garden. AN istallation in the garden woudl work except for winter when again the neighboor house is in the path due to the low sun.
While trying I found out that the window on our third floor is turned towards the south and not bothered by the neighboor house.
So I now put my 100 Wh solar palnel inside of that window and it generates a little of 30 watt max for a couple of hours when we have sun.
Enough to charge phones, ipas and laptop backup. I sued the battery pack recently for my wifes laptop + 2 screens and a light when the power wnet out for a couple of hours.
In our small over populated country it si not easy to find a good spot. Secondly we have this Spanish house soon and there we will install solar panels one we live there more often. (In a year or two I guess)
Untill then I have to think and think what to do here.....
