Adversity bestows every day but I dare you to confront it squarely
Who knows tomorrow?
It's only bound to get better
I take a long hard stare at what today has to offer in disappointment
Yet I choose to stand , to stand a patriot
Our leaders of old
Ironically still our leaders of the new age
Bringing in resounding promises and it's all becoming a big routine
Yet I choose to stand, to stand a patriot
So many questions in my head
When will all these suffering come to a halt?
When will the Nigeria our patriots of old promised become ours?
When will the basic amenities become infused as part of the basic human rights?
When will the young finally standout to be leaders of tomorrow?
When will basic education be available to all which to me I think is our first step to liberating ourselves?
When will our graduates be proud and happy to be absorbed into the nations labor market?
When will ther be an end to incessant strikes that cripples the efficiency of our work force?
These questions linger but i stand a patriot
i know we will be free
Alas I know we'll take our destinies in our hands
To press on , to live on, to fight on!
we Stand, we stand as Patriots
Being a patriot is not by mere utterances but by Darin actions! On the streets , in the school's, in the markets , in the churches! Standing for the civility and fairness you believe. Knowing how much you actions and silence may have an effect on the way the world sees you as a nation. I stand today to challenge you. Don't get weary , keep doing what is right and what you believe in cause it pays . I know life won't always present roses but it's only fair if our future as a people is duely considered
