Google’s cloud gaming platform Stadia is set to go live on November 19th for the first group of early adopters who paid US$130 for the Founder’s Edition package.
Analysis and Comments
Remember this includes Metro Exodus and Darksiders Genesis as Launch titles (Embracer Group) and Grid (Codemasters titles) on the platform. Likely as not they will have received upfront payments to be a launch title which could well bolster this quarters numbers as revenue will only be recognized once launched (wont impact Embracer in their Q2 on 14 Nov but it could well do in their Q3 on February 19 2020E).
Additionally, eight Ubisoft games will be available for purchase through the Stadia platform, including all of this years’ new releases. We are still yet to see the pricing model for the Ubisoft subscription service (UPlay+) via Stadia - this will launch next year.
