Clearly Disney is out to get every dime I have. They are using my ultimate weakness in order to get it. I simply can't resist just about anything related to Star Wars. But this latest move is really hitting me in my soft spot.
Do you see all of those people and creatures pointing? They are showing where goofballs like me can spend all of their money at the new Star Wars theme park and Resort.
A few moths ago, I wrote about the progress being made on the new Star Wars themed lands at the Disney Parks in California and Florida. The two parks are set to open in 2019.
This weekend at the D23 Expo, Disney not only revealed that the lands will be called "Star Wars: Galaxy Edge" they also released a new video that gives a glimpse of some of their plans.
But I already knew this. How could this help put me further into Disney induced debt?
As soon as I heard the Star Wars themed lands were set to open in 2019, I began negotiations with my wife to take the family there in 2019 or 2020. Because we have never been to California, we decided to kill two bird with one stone. We would check out the Star Wars land at Disneyland in California.
Perfect! We have already been to Disney World in Florida four times. It was actually a pretty easy sell to get her to agree to my plan.
Then this past weekend, Disney went and screwed up my plans.
There is no way I can go to Disneyland instead of Disney World.
Why?
Those brilliant bastards at Disney just upped the anti. They are not only opening up "Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge", they are going to include an entire Star Wars themed RESORT... but only at the Florida location!
I'm only kidding. Having to change my Disney vacation plans is nowhere near as bad as turning Darth Vader into Frankenstein.
Yep. They got me again. Now I have to go back to Disney World for a fifth time. (Obviously this is a complete exaggeration as I don't really have to do anything... but its fun to write about this silliness.)
Apparently not only will the resorts be decorated like a brand new Star Wars based smuggler's planet, according to Walt Disney Parks and Resorts chairman Bob Chapek, "every single room will have a view into space".
Wow daddy! I can actually see my college money just floating away into space!
In addition, guests of the resort will have an opportunity to take on a customized secret Star Wars based mission. They will receive a dossier outlining their mission. Disney will provide guests on these missions with Star Wars based costumes and allow them to spend the day totally immersed in the world of Star Wars. (Man I hope there is an option for just the kids to dress up... even I have my limits.)
With my luck I'd end up getting caught on film doing something that would make me as infamous as this guy.
So what do you say? Steemit meetup at Disney World in 2019?
I'll bring the blue milk.
