Luke Skywalkers Hideout Island

I like to check out remarkable filming locations online. After watching the latest Star Wars - The last Jedi, i wanted to know where Luke Skywalkers hideout island is located. Turns out it is west of the cost of ireland in the atlantic ocean.

The real name is "Skellig Rock" and the round stone houses and the stone stairs do really exist. The structures date back to a sixth-century Christian monastery which was build 160 meters above the sea on a ledge. Great Skellig is suppsosed to become part of the Unesco World heritage. You can only access the island by boat, but it is possible to book guided tours. I am sure since the movie there will even more tourists now :-)
