Some people write, some people comment, some people upvote, some people downvote. Lets not forget about all the developers working in the background developing amazing apps for the platform. Whatever yardstick you use you are probably missing out on a key aspect of the platform but it can be useful to have some metrics to measure activity over time.
User Activity on Steemit
What exactly is an active user and what does growth in this mean for the Steemit Ecosystem?
Unique Authors
This is a metric I have not seen before and I think is probably the most important one for looking at level of activity. How many unique authors are posting or commenting each day?
It is useful to have a few other metrics to hand when looking at this author data.
Posts Per Day
Votes Per Day
The number of votes per day tells gives us an idea of the level of engagement on posts and comments. Of course we all know there are many bots voting but it is still useful to look at this metric.
Daily Account Creation
This is an extremely important metric but as several other users publish this data regularly I will not recreate it here. Check out for daily reports with other key metrics and https://steemdata.com/charts for some interactive charts.
