The title race has remained unchanged as City and Liverpool won all their games from last gameweek, this season will be very bitter for the runner-up, as this will be the first season where one team gets 90+ points and still doesn’t win the league.
The fight for the champions league spots has surprisingly remained unchanged, as only Spurs managed to win a game. Tottenham has increased its distance from Chelsea, Arsenal and United, with the red devils now 6 points behind Spurs
On the lower side of the table Newcastle has officially avoided relegation, Burnley needs a tie but has pretty much saved themselves. Southampton is sitting at 16th with a 6 points advantage over Cardiff which is at 18th.
The battle to avoid relegation has thus turned into a two way battle as Cardiff is 3 points behind Brighton.
Liverpool will start the gameweek by hosting Huddersfield. This game shouldn’t be a problem for the Reds, but I won’t expect them to underestimate their rival as their hopes for winning the league depends on a victory.
Spurs will be playing against West Ham, so far Spurs has only won in their new home, a victory for them is important if they want to hold on to their third place.
Everton will be going to Selhurst Park. The toffees have so far beaten Chelsea, Arsenal and United at home, however they lost their last match on the road against Fulham. Palace on the other hand tends to have an away bias. I think Everton should win as they have one of the best current forms with 12 points out of 15.
Fulham will be playing against Cardiff at Craven Cottage. Cardiff shouldn’t underestimate already relegated Fulham who now has 2 wins in a row without conceding. For Cardiff their salvation might depend on it.
Southampton will be receiving Bournemouth. Both teams are stronger at home, unfortunately for the Cherries they are on the road this time. If Southampton wins, they would have pretty much avoided relegation.
Watford will be playing against Wolves.
Brighton will host Newcastle. The toons have officially avoided relegation and might not be as motivated to win as Brighton, who is only 3 points away from the 18th place. Newcastle also has a home bias.
Leicester will be playing against Arsenal on Sunday. The Gunners need a victory if they want to return to the champions league spots. Formwise the Foxes are surprisingly doing better with 7 points on the last 5 matches, which is one more than Arsenal
Burnley will be hosting City at Turf Moor. City needs the win because they are locked in the title race, whereas Burnley has pretty much avoided relegation.
This gameweek ends with its most entertaining match: Manchester United vs Chelsea.
Manchester United doesn’t seem to be going through their best moment as their form has taken a blow. Chelsea might be doing a bit better but isn’t convincing. For both teams a victory is crucial, because their chances for a champions league spot might depend on this game. For the blues Hudson-Odoi won’t be available due to injury. Kante, Rüdiger and Marcos Alonso are doubtful
Possible starting lineups:
United: De Gea, Young, Lindelöf, Smalling, Shaw, Mctominay, Fred, Pogba, Rashford, Lukaku, Martial
Chelsea: Kepa, Azpilicueta, David luiz, Christensen Emerson, Jorginho, Barkly, Loftus-Cheek, Pedro, Hazard, Higuain
The next 3 gameweeks will all have 10 matches a week. Look at the fixtures and take into the account teams that have something going for them, such as winning the title, getting into champions league or avoiding relegation.
Good Luck!
