The markets look like they are turning around today, but we have seen this before. It could be another head fake, it could also be the beginning of the next bull run. Time will tell. We are still sitting pretty low in the land of steem and that can cause some people to get down on it. is secretly selling off his stash and many people don't know what to do with their steem fortunes (futuristically speaking).
I am here, everyday, to provide a little bit of positivity to the steem landscape and let you know a good reason to be holding onto some steem.
Reason # 3: Steempower!
Steempower is steem, powered up! When you power up your steem you are letting everyone know that you are confident in the steem blockchain and want to havve some stake in it. By powering up steem, you can delegate to a worthy cause (or a non-worthy one... it's your stake, do what you will) and get paid for your delegation. By powering up you can also throw some of your upvote around. Let people who are saying what you want to hear that you appreciate it with an upvote worth something. Right now, my upvote at full power is worth 8 cents. I know it isn't much, but I am certain that some of my favourite bloggers have made a few dollars off of me enjoying their work. If steem goes up in price, say ten times, then my upvote will be worth nearly a dollar. Now we are talking right!
An account with 15,000 steempower has an upvote currently worth $1.27. You can show a lot of gratitude with that upvote!
Steempower is also good because, through throwing your upvote around, you also collect some steempower curation rewards.
Once you power up your steem, it is going to be held in your account, for 13 weeks. To turn steempower back into liquid steem, you need to power it down. Powering down takes a full 13 weeks.
I have been powering up every bit of steem that I get my hands on (that hasn't been spent on steemmonsters)
There you have it. Another reason why steem is the best. Power some up today, good things are on the way for us steemians.
