I think that Steem will be $10 before we know it. The price is low today. It isn't just Steem that is on discount today. The entire market is down. I look at the past 2 years or so and some of the huge winners include Bitcoin (of course), Ethereum, Litecoin, Ripple, EOS, and Bitcoin Cash. There have been huge price swings but the dips and corrections are always eventually followed by MASSIVE spikes in price. Steem, too, has been successful.
BUT I think that Steem's success has been only a partial measure of the true potential of Steem. Steem is far and away the most utilized Blockchain (from what I understand) and while large scale adoption of Ethereum and Ripple are also occurring (Ripple as a payment mechanism in some existing enterprise applications), Steem's Blockchain user base through Steemit, DLive, DTube, and other Steem DApps has been consistently growing. Some point at inflation of Steem in arguing as to why it hasn't quite rose with the same ferocity as other coins despite its success.
I disagree. The Growth of Steem is much greater than the rate of inflation. The Steem Blockchain shows more and more potential on a constant basis. Steem Monsters, DTube, DLive, and others are some amazing innovations just beginning to show the power of the Steem Blockchain. We all also know that SMTs will shine like a light across Steem and will raise it to new heights. But even prior to SMTs and without them at all, with the power of DTube, DLive, and the power of the large captive audience that Steem/Steemit/DTube/DLive has, the price of Steem, imo, is somewhere around $10. Once SMTs are here it could go even higher. I think that $10 will come some time soon. Stay strong; weak hands can make you a poor man in the crypto market. Hodl! Steem's pace will increase when necessary and it will fly!
